Yes, our acrylic trays meet FDA food contact standards and EU regulations. The PMMA material is non-toxic and does not leach chemicals into food. However, we recommend placing food on plates or in bowls rather than directly on the tray surface, as acidic foods or high-temperature items may cause gradual surface etching.
What's the difference between acrylic, luciteand plexiglass?
These are different trade names for the same material—PMMA (Polymethyl Methacrylate). "Plexiglass" and "Lucite" are brand names that became generic terms, similar to "Kleenex" for tissues. We use virgin PMMA material in all our products.
Can acrylic trays hold hot food or drinks?
Acrylic tolerates temperatures up to 90°C (194°F) continuously. Warm food and beverages are safe, but avoid direct contact with items hotter than boiling water. Never place acrylic in microwaves, ovens, or dishwashers with heat-dry cycles. For hot food service, we recommend placing items in heat-resistant dishes first.
